To make a look more casual ? It's Nine West and patent leather,(shiny,) so let's say jeans and patent leather heels, with the bag, crossbody style. (Even though I could turn it into a clutch or double-strapped), the super long strap looks casual and different so what do you think. Or does it just look wierd. I am currently making a historical/ steampunk dress, and I decided to make something that would allow me to carry any belongings - Money, my phone, make up etc - On the day when I am to wear it. But it occurred to me, whilst looking at my ref pics, I couldnt quite figure out just where one would keep such things (Obviously they wouldnt have had phones, haha~). None of my pictures have the subjects holding bags. womens clothing had no pockets?

Any suggestions? Since its steampunk, I considered a leather pouch buut...It just doesnt really fit with my design. Also, being steampunk, it doesnt have to be 100% historically accurate~

Ideas on how to arrange a gift for a friend's birthday?

My best friend who is a lot older than I am is celebrating a birthday on February 12, a few days before Valentine's Day. She is a mature adult, almost 60, so I don't want her gift to come off looking like a cheap gift, or a child's gift. She is into making jewelry. I found some craft books, very nice ones, that are hard covered, about jewelry making and beading (two of her interests). I ordered 6 books in total but three are currently on back order and don't look like they will arrive in time for her birthday. I also ordered a large assortment (900) different glass beads that I know she will love and use in her jewelry making. There is also a red tote bag that is large, looks like a purse, and has leather handles. I have some ribbon that is made out of white plastic pearls. How can I tie everything together into a beautiful gift for her? Should I wrap the items individually and put them inside of the bag? Or should I wrap the bag? Should I use the pearl ribbon, or just put it in the bag so she can use it? And what do I do about the three books that won't arrive in time? Make a card with the titles and write an I.O.U., or come up with something different? Help please!

Spring Fashion Advice? (And Other Questions?)?

Okay, so spring is coming and I am so lost!! (Shopping Wise anyways) Because I shop at Aeropostale and have some shirts from AE and Abercrombie and I have Fashion Bug boots that look like UGGs. I feel like I want to dress better but not like everyone else..Like a hoodie from PINK or Hollister if it's comfy but yet I don't want to have exact same thing as everyone. I kind of want UGGs but kind of don't. I mean I need new boots, (I am down to no shoes) and I don't have the money and I think every style and pair of UGGs is worn in my school already and it is a bit annoying. I was thinking Bearpaws or I need some boots that are nice, unique, and stand out, that are affordable. I sometimes get sucked in w/ the brand things, it's hard not to though..The brands I do like are Vera Bradley (no wonder everyone likes them, they are great!) , NorthFace (best jacket I ever bought) and PINK. What do you think UGGs or Bearpaws? How do I solve this fashion conflict for spring? Any sneaker advice? BTW everyone at my school wears UGGs, sweatpants/ ripped jeans, tees, zip sweatshirts, hoodies, Vera Bradley, and black NorthFaces (mine is white so). I mean everyone is like them but I kind of want to avoid that but not dress too out there and be tacky like Harper from WOWP (lol) ,but really dress nice and fashionable so things look good. I am in 6th Grade and it is quite annoying because my friend's like today: "Oh I am saving up for $1000 Mac." I know I'm off topic but really? I keep getting off topic yes..And when I wore my Forever 21 leather jacket today my friend asked my why I was wearing my dad's jacket..It was kind of rude because my dad has his own leather jacket (THANK YOU VERY MUCH SAM!) and I got loads of compliements on it and no one EVER compliements anyone's clothes..back to way earlier, I like some stuff in those brand stores, but really, do people know what places they are advertising?
